Perimeter Security System Used at Airports and Government Properties now being added to Home Security Systems

Perimeter security systems are necessary for such diverse installations like military ports, government buildings and airports as well as base installations. Some of the better security systems that are available today can get be purchased over the counter and installed as part of your home security system strategy.

And since this type of perimeter security equipment is available at a cost effective price as well as being integrated for use on large area base perimeters one would have found the ideal perimeter security system. The centerpiece of the perimeter security system may be the camera which can be deployed or pointed thus keeping the surveillance team always aware about the area being monitored by such a system.

Sophisticated Electronic Surveillance Equipment is Cheap

Fiber SenSys is a world leader in perimeter security systems and manufactures dependable, high-performance fiber-optic intrusion detection solutions that encompass a huge and diverse spectrum of markets ranging from the government and military installations to airports, oil refineries, electrical substations and a host of other similar installations. you can also buy wireless Rf cameras and build your own perimeter security system on the cheap.

The major advantage of their perimeter security systems are that they are not affected by common nuisances such electromagnetic and radio interference, traffic, and lighting. In addition, installing their systems is easy and one needs just simple hand tools to install the sensor systems, which require little or no maintenance.

Another company that provides perimeter security systems is Seenex, which provides security systems necessary to prevent crime against society. It includes automatic entry, exit door systems, and security turnstile systems. Seenex is one great provider of perimeter security system solutions that address a wide variety of industry types.

Whatever be the source one chooses for getting perimeter security systems, one must realize that the best possible security systems need a combination of a physical barrier, such as gates and also electronic surveillance equipment. Before buying a perimeter security system, one may need to understand what passive sensors and motion detector software is and how you integrate with a wireless camera. Consider a Monitored Home Security System from Protect America.

Using a professional company can safeguard you in ways that you cannot do on your own. You also can add a surveillance camera to your package if you choose to for added protection such as seeing who is at your front door without having to go there. There are also options that let you know who and when a person will enter and exit the home. For example, if you have teenagers and want to know when the get home from school you can do so with a security system.

Many systems will also give you the option of checking your home when you are not there. Many newer systems allow you to view your home from your computer anywhere you are. Others allow the additional option of checking your home from your enabled cell phone or PDA device.

An alarm system can also detect emergencies such as a possible fire. When temperature rises abnormally in your home or smoke then the system will alert the company and emergency services. The protocol will be whatever you and your security system set up for protection. The same is true if live in an area that has potential for flooding.

Many seniors do not want to give up their independence. Having the professional services will be a safeguard for them and give them and you peace of mind for emergency response if needed. This will give the freedom to get around and still call for help. Devices can go with them around the house or be close by.

Systematically the system will have a two-way voice intercom that the resident can use to call out for help. It can go for a range of up to 300 feet and be set on a table or on the wall. Many are waterproof and can be used in the bathroom with no damage to the unit. For those with epilepsy this is essential as some patients can suffer from episodes with running water.

A professional security company comes with trained professionals who will be there when you need them. When you search for a security company ensure that this is a viable option for services rendered on a twenty-four hour, seven day a week capacity. It is worth knowing that whether you are at home or away that there is someone monitoring and safeguarding your home.

Most security companies have different packages that can be catered to your needs. The cost can be deducted on the yearly taxes that you claim for your home and make sure to let your insurance company know about your new security system. Some insurance carriers will lower your premiums for this added home protection. Check with the Security Company that you are considering asking what packages and options they have available for you.

The home should be your haven; secure and comfortable from the outside world. Having Residential Security Systems certainly enhances that feeling. To bring that dream into reality, one may need a Residential Alarm Monitoring System installed to keep it that way. With the best mix of technology and high end systems packages} one may find a number of workable residential security systems on the market. Such security systems have been determined to be an appropriate solution to intruders though the more advanced alarms that are available may end up to costly as they cost thousands of dollars.

One ought to settle for a substitute that offers peace of mind and can be expertly designed and configured and, which should also prove to be a professional residential security system that costs only a fraction of those thousands of dollars just talked about. As always, you can always get a Free Residential Security System Quote

Carbon Monoxide Gas and Other Problems

There are tons of different issues which are present everyday in the home and these include carbon monoxide poisoning, fire and burglaries. It is thought that one in every 5 homes in the US will be burgled, have a fire or have carbon monoxide poisoning in the coming 6 years.

We have also found that an guestimated 38 per cent of assaults as well as 60 per cent of violent crimes happen in dwellings and there are figures that propose that 20 people may lose their lives in the dwelling every day. It is suggested that 1,800 deaths happen from carbon monoxide, each and every year. These statistics show that the need for having a residential security system is quite compelling and a everyone should seriously consider installing one for safety’s sake.

You need to consider Residential Security Systems for fire protection, burglary protection, carbon monoxide security, infant security, and pet security during a disaster, poison proofing the home, avoiding young adult dating violence, in addition to false alarm reduction. In fact, by getting Residential Alarm Monitoring you will know if there is an issue your house. Fire is another of the greatest issues to your domicile, therefore the residential alarm system that connects early and notifies the homeowners is absolutely required to install in the dwelling. Fire can destroy everything and everyone in the dwelling and so is a big issue for the homebody.

Robberies are another serious issue, regardless of whether one lives in the country or the city areas. Since most dwellings may hold riches that are top items of thieves the need to have a residential security system to safeguard these valuables cannot be overemphasized. Carbon monoxide poisoning is not like burglars or fires since it cannot be seen but is pretty lethal anyway. If there happens to be a gas fireplace, hot tubs, or other gas-fired equipment, the threat of carbon monoxide poisoning may occur and should be prevented by installing a residential alarm system that alerts the homeowner when there is a threat.

With burglaries and similar crimes being continuously increasing each year, homeowners need to find ways that they could effectively protect themselves. Unfortunately, the police are too busy with other matters and cannot handle this increase in home robberies.

When our homes are robbed, if we lose many things. First of all, the valuables are the first to go. Then, we also feel insecure, knowing that strangers went through her things, but more than that, these are operating differently than they used to. Some of them don’t care whether you are in the home or not. Home invasions are those where the criminals will enter regardless of who is home. In many cases, the victims are terrified and even physically hurt.

So, we must do things to protect ourselves and our other family members by trying to do everything to deter thieves from coming into our homes. Security systems are extremely helpful. This is especially true with the young thieves and petty thieves because they find it difficult to deal with security systems an often overlook your home.

What they want is an easy target that isn’t protected. In many cases, homeowners choose dogs or guard dogs to keep thieves away. Although they are an effective method, they also need a lot of time from their owners. That means, many people have to run home simply to let their dogs out, and feed them.

That’s why home security systems are better. Not only do they provide the safety that you are looking for, they also allow you to live your life the way you want. So, no matter how long you been to be a way, your home will be monitored appropriately by a central station. If something sets off the alarm, the station will be notified. If the agent believes that there is trouble, he or she will send a message to your local police station.

I’ll be happy to know that there have been a lot of changes with security systems in the recent years. Whether you choose a conventional one, or go for a more sophisticated system with video cameras, they all serve the same purpose: to keep thieves and dangerous intruders away from your home.

From all the incredible security systems available, you’ll also find many of them are now wireless. Many people prefer these because they don’t require major installation or drilling in passing many wires through walls and floors. Moreover, newer systems enable homeowners to communicate directly with live agents from the system. They have proven to be more effective and more intimidating than other systems.

Therefore, protection for your home should never be overlooked and ADT Security can help. But before choosing your equipment and the company that will monitor your home, look around, shop around, and know as much as you can about the home security system.
Over recent years, the net has introduced us many new, and exciting technologies, one of which being the capability to watch our house, by means of a webcam, via the internet 24 hours a day, seven days a week as long as you have a internet connection. Movements in your property can be transmitted, through the world wide web, to your computer for you to view in real time.

You also have the choice of having cameras in different rooms and these days, increasingly more organizations are installing digital surveillance cameras to cut down on both vandalism and theft.

Nowadays, there are a number of surveillance packages on the market or, certainly, you may want to build your own. When purchasing your cameras it is important that they are discreet and blend in with the surroundings as much as possible and most importantly of all, do not cut on cost. The more you invest the clearer the pictures will be.

A variety of software is also on the market if you happen to be creating your own surveillance system. Keep an eye out for software that will notify you by phone, text or email when an intruder makes its way into your property. This is very useful if you’re away from home for long amounts of time.

Nowadays pictures are significantly clearer than the old analog videos, and unlike when recording onto tapes, recording pictures in a digital format will retain it’s quality however many times it is played back. The digital data are also compressed and saved much easier than a collection of video tapes.

Home security is a somewhat generic term that includes several levels and types of services. The basic level of service is the installation of an alarm system. There are companies that offer system installation without any monitoring or security surveillance after the installation. Some home security have a full range of security options, with customized packages based on individual requirements. This article will explore and explain some of the benefits and shortcomings of the various options. Discussed in this article will be self-installed system alarm systems, basic alarm installation services, and the wide range of professional customized systems.

Any homeowner can go to the local hardware store or department store and purchase a simple alarm kit. These kits typically include two or three wireless sensors and a controller. The security comes from a loud warning alarm when a sensor is activated. A few more expensive self-installed alarms include the ability to place phone calls to one or more numbers programmed by the homeowner. For an extra charge, some alarm kits can include monitoring.

The biggest weaknesses of self-installed systems are battery life for wireless devices and the limited number of active sensors. The quality and sensitivity of the sensors included with these kits can be questionable. Amateur installers can overlook less obvious security weaknesses and make installation mistakes that leave the home vulnerable. Prices vary widely and bargain basement systems should be approached with caution.

Much better security is available from professional Tennessee home security services. Professionals keep abreast of the technological advances in the industry and the methods being employed by criminal types to get past security systems. Professional installers will mount sensors and controllers that use house electricity for power and fall back on battery power when electricity fails. Security lapses caused by battery life are eliminated.

Alarm systems provide a warning when a sensor is tripped or a threat is detected. Monitored systems go beyond that with the ability to very a problem and notify authorities. Some Tennessee home security services are nationwide companies with professional, full-time agents monitoring their systems. Other local companies can provide locally-based monitoring and even security patrols.

Monitored systems add an extra measure of security beyond simply warning residents when security is threatened. Many Tennessee home security services are part of much larger country-wide organizations with full time professional monitoring. Monitoring professionals are trained to respond rapidly and effectively when a threat is detected.

Very early in the days of electronic security systems, alarms were hardwired into local police stations. Repeated false alarms and the growing use of alarm systems have forced police departments to stop monitoring home alarms. Monitoring services verify the threat before contacting local police. This adds some to the response time of law enforcement, but isolates the same law enforcement from false alarms.

A homeowner must consider several factors when choosing one of the home security alarm. Among these factors are: the perceived threat level, the value of the property being protected, the money available to pay for home wireless security and the family’s self-defense abilities.

There are many important benefits that come with installing AZSecurity. First of these is the barrier erected between what you have and what criminals would like to take from you. Whether it’s a robber trying to steal from you or a rapist after your wife or daughter, his entry into your home can either be prevented or you can be warned ahead of time. This warning allows you to take the necessary steps.

Peace of mind about the safety of one’s family is priceless. It doesn’t matter if a protected home is empty or occupied, a good alarm system will be ‘watching’ the residence 24/7, keeping everything and everyone safe and sound. And with proper placards announcing that ‘this home is protected’, anyone thinking about gaining entry will certainly think twice and, in most cases, turn and leave.

A good alarm configuration will be designed to ward off those seeking to gain illegal entry. But it goes a lot farther than that. It will also be set up to provide warning in the case of other types of emergencies. These include fires and carbon monoxide leaks. Generally, a panic button is included to be used in the case of a medical emergency also. Most systems are capable of making direct contact with the authorities so help can be dispatched as soon as possible. This capability can not only alleviate extensive damage but actually save lives.

Proper residential alarm systems will include not only devices to warn of home invasion, such as sensors that go off if any door or window is being breached. They may also include motion detectors (inside and out) and cameras. There should be alarms to warn of smoke, fire or carbon monoxide, also. Signs and stickers should be made available, to place in the yard and on every door and window. These will help keep the bad guys out, or from even attempting to get in.

An additional benefit of protecting your house is the relief you’ll get from your insurance company in the form of lower premiums. Insurance companies realize that a house with good protection is a lower risk to them and they will often reward this by charging less money for your homeowner’s policy. This might not be a big deal, and the dollar savings may not be huge, but when taken into account with the other benefits discussed, it’s another reason why protecting yourself makes sense.

If you’ve ever had your home burglarized then you’re familiar with that feeling of being violated by some stranger, and being helpless to do anything about it. You may have lost valuable possessions and wondered what you could have done differently. Or worse, you may have fallen victim to a more serious tragedy that could have been prevented or alleviated with advance warning.

Of all the benefits detailed above, the most important would have to be the protection of the lives and well being of you and your family. Things can be replaced. Loved ones can’t.

There’s also this to consider. If you’re fortunate enough to have escaped the tragedies that affect so many homeowners on a daily basis, are you confident your safety will continue? Installing a good security system can relieve any doubt about it. And, remember, it’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Isn’t that true?
To read more about the benefits of home alarm systems, visit Here or click http://www.azsecurity.org to read reviews from customers.

Self-installed packages are available in hardware stores, department stores and online. Most of these use wireless detectors with a central keypad with a loud alarm. The number and type of detectors vary greatly. The most basic systems include at least one motion detector for area coverage and one or two door or window sensors. Some self-installed systems have the ability to make phone calls to one or more phone numbers programmed by the owner. Other self-installed packages can be combined with a monitoring service with additional charges.

Before placing family’s security in a bargain alarm system, homeowners should be aware of some inherent weaknesses in these kits. The two most obvious weaknesses are battery life and the limited number of sensors. The quality and sensitivity of kit-based sensors is at best questionable. Non-professional installers often overlook security vulnerabilities and make mistakes that expose the family and property.

Professional Tennessee home security services can design and install systems that no bargain kit can match. Professional security consultants put forth a lot of effort to keep up with advancing technology. The average professional criminal is more tech-savvy than ever before. Security professionals stay informed about the security systems that have been widely defeated and the new and secure systems that have not yet been compromised.

Almost all Tennessee home security services have professional installation technicians who can spot security vulnerabilities that are easily overlooked by amateurs. Professionally installed systems will use the home electrical power and include batteries as emergency backup during power outages. The problem of dead batteries goes away.

Simple alarm systems are enhanced by monitoring services. There are a few nationally recognized names in home security and some Tennessee home security services are part of these large companies. Large companies have the resources to maintain professionally staffed monitoring centers. Trained security monitors can quickly verify a threat and call local authorities.

A homeowner’s choice of home security alarm system involves several factors. The resident’s financial resources, perceived threat and ability to defend his life and property all play into the decision of home security systems.

Different types of alarms do different things. An alarm can tell if there is a fire in a house, or if there is a high level of carbon monoxide. Some alarms do both. Other alarms are purely to deter burglars and people trying to invade a home. Alarm systems can be monitored by a central system that keeps track of how many pets are in a home or what a house’s floor plan might be.

People should consider using house alarms if they have valuables in their house that can’t be replaced easily. Many people collect things like rare coins or ancient artifacts. People who go to cottages should also use a house alarm if they are going to be away for a while. Yet, another reason for getting a home alarm would be if a house is in a remote area where neighbors can’t monitor what’s going on.

Perimeter alarms are a very typical type of alarm system. They are generally connected to the windows and doors of a home and any other entryways. With a magnetic contact, a vibration detector or a strip of special foil tape, the alarm is triggered once the intruder breaks the seal. There are also small round discs that can be placed in the corners of window frames that are able to detect the sound waves and vibrations of a window breaking.

Area alarms protect an area of the home. This can be a portion of a room or a hallway. Sophisticated electronic sensors sweep their beams along the area to be protected, typically an area that an intruder will have to pass through. They will respond to changes in light or pressure, temperature, even sound or movement.

Area home alarms can be found in several different types. One type uses photoelectric eyes to cast unseen beams through the area to be protected. It is usually one that traffic has to pass through to get from one part of the house or property to another. Truly sophisticated systems use infrared detectors to sense the body heat of an intruder, or use microwaves to detect the motion of someone where they shouldn’t be.

Detection alarms are intended to trigger a noise that is loud enough to scare off burglars and other dangerous intruders. It’s also good to have alarms that turn the lights on, indoors and out. This will make your house more noticeable to neighbors and the police, while lighting up areas that would be ideal for a burglar to hide.

Homes can be protected without using expensive home alarms as well. Good quality windows and doors can help prevent someone from breaking in, and proper exterior lighting can make an intruder think twice. A home that doesn’t stand out from the ones around it is also safer. If you are going to choose one of the many home alarms available, consider getting one that is monitored for extra protection.

For a free consultation for your home, visit ADT Security or go to AZ Security to compare different systems.

Education is the key to leading a safe and happy life. Safety starts in the home.
Here are some home safety tips regarding home security from State Farm:

Protect yourself against home burglary

Whether you live in a house, a condo or an apartment, a break-in can permanently shatter your feeling of security at home.

According to the FBI, a house, apartment or condominium is burglarized once every 15 seconds.

Fortunately, burglary is probably the most preventable of crimes. By taking a few simple precautions, you can dramatically reduce the risks.

Of course, every home and every situation is different, and there are no guarantees.

The first step is to determine what kind of threat you are trying to protect against. For example, defending against personal threats, such as assault, requires different measures than defending against burglary.

Most home burglars do not give great amounts of thought to planning the job and assessing the benefits vs. dangers, but understanding how they choose a target can go a long way in reducing your chances of being a victim.

Most burglars look for:

* Something worth stealing
* Easy access combined with low visibility
* A home that is unoccupied

Did you know? More residential burglaries occur during the day because homes tend to be vacant more often.

How to prevent break-ins:

* Fool them by making your home look occupied all the time.
* Use automatic timers on lights when away from home.
* Always park your cars in the garage with the garage door shut. A burglar may otherwise notice a pattern that a closed garage door or no cars in the driveway means no one is home. Closing the garage door and having curtains or blinds on the garage windows also hides some of your belongings.
* Place radios on automatic timers and raise the volume so they can be heard outside.
* Lower the sound of your telephone ringer and answering machine so that they can’t be heard outside.
* Never leave notes on your door that can tip off burglars.

When away for more than a day:

* If possible, have your telephone calls forwarded when you are away from home. Burglars sometimes check to see if someone is home by making a telephone call.

* Have a trusted neighbor pick up the mail and newspaper. If possible, do not have either stopped. That gives information about you being away from home to others whom you do not know.

* If away for an extended period, have a plan in place to have the grass mowed or snow shoveled.

* If you are away from home on garbage pickup day, ask a trusted neighbor to put your garbage cans out to the street and take them back in. You may wish to have your neighbor use your garbage cans while you are out. Burglars sometimes check for empty cans as a sign the family is away.

* There are systems available that will open and close window draperies by timer. Constantly open or closed curtains can tip the burglar off that no one is home.

* Even if you don’t need specific help, always tell a trusted neighbor if you are going to be gone for a few days.

* If you are going to be gone for an extended period, ask your local police to check your home periodically.

In short, make your house look the same whether you are away or at home.

Eliminate hiding places

* Make sure there is good lighting around the place where you park.

* Install motion detector lights around your house instead of just leaving lights on at night. The lights coming on and turning off attract the attention of neighbors. Install these lights at least 8 feet above the ground so they are more difficult to disable.

* Install the motion detector lights so they light all doors and windows. Doors, since they are the preferred entry point, should be the first priority to illuminate, followed by windows.

* Remove bushes and shrubs from around the house, especially under windows and next to doors. Keep your yard free of overgrowth.

* If you DO have shrubs and bushes, select ones with thorns to deter potential intruders from hiding in them.

* Install a security alarm system with a loud alarm and/or flashing lights. This will attract the attention of neighbors. If you install an alarm, display the decals, and remember to test the system periodically.

Use common sense caution

* Always lock all doors and windows when you leave the house.
* Use a peephole to identify visitors before opening your door.
* Do not hide spare keys outside your home, instead give one to a trusted neighbor.
* Do not provide your house keys to service people.
* Do not invite strangers into your home.
* Do not have money or jewelry lying out in view from a window. If possible, keep jewelry and other small valuables and important documents in a safe deposit box.
* Do not tell strangers your daily routines.
* If you are at home working outside, leave all other doors that are out of sight locked.
* Avoid telling others about the valuables in your home.
* If you have children, discuss home security with them, such as not talking with strangers about their home, its contents or family schedules.

Make your home a harder target

Did you know? The average burglar will spend no more than four to five minutes trying to break into a residence.

* When moving into a new residence, have the locks changed.

* Consult a good locksmith to make sure you have the correct types of locks on your doors and windows.

* Secure your exterior doors and any doors from attached garages by installing:
o Good quality deadbolt door locks
o Security-type door strikes
o Strong, properly installed doors and doorframes that cannot be spread apart
o Security-type hinge
* Secure your windows by installing additional locks and installing impact-resistant glass on any windows within 42″ of a door lock. This will make it more difficult to break the glass, reach in, and unlock the lock.

* Prune lower branches of trees near your house if they could help a burglar gain access to a second story window.

* Secure your patio door with a pin-type lock, a key lock, or a steel rod inserted into the door channel.

* Secure your garage by installing automatic openers or bolt-type locks on each end of the garage doors.

Take time to become knowledgeable about your situation and your options so that you can best decide what to do. And remember, you can also ask your local police department for advice.

Inventory and mark your belongings.

Use our free resources to complete a home inventory.

Mark your belongings with an engraving pen so that they can be traced and return them to you if stolen. These pens are usually available at your local police station. Ask your police department what numbers to use when marking your belongings. Never mark them with your social security number.

In these tough economic times, people become desparate to make ends meet. This generally means an increase in crime, and one of the best ways to get money is to rob a house.

Your first line of defense is your door lock. Is it a deadbolt? do you lock your doors, even when you are home?

The second line of defense is your landscaping. Is your house easy to see from the street and neighbors, or hidden by shrubs, tres and bushes? Make sure there is no easy way to hide while breaking into a window or lower level door.

The third line of defense is your neighborhood watch program. Do you have a watch program in place, and use it?

burglars to go places where it is easy to rip you off. If your neighborhood has signage about your Neighborhood Watch program, they may go somewhere else. If you have an alarm sign in your front yard, they will go somewhere else.

If you are like many other families in the United States and around the globe, then you have had occasion to think about putting a home safety security system into your house to protect your family and property. Increasingly, the trend is toward video surveillance systems which are now more affordable than ever. But, when it comes down to the decision point, some people get stopped in their tracks by the multitude of choices available.

Not long ago, most homeowners never even thought about including video surveillance into their overall home security plans. But today things are different. The good news is the cost of all security equipment has dropped significantly in recent years. As it has become more available, it has become more popular and vital for security functions.

And, that means that in today’s hi-tech world, even an average, ordinary family is able to install a good home safety security system without breaking their budget. It hasn’t been much more than about a dozen years ago that the only place you would see this kind of sophistication in remote video surveillance cameras was in big business establishments or government facilities.

One of the most popular features of a home security system that integrates video surveillance is the option to have the video feeds sent to the internet. This means that busy parents who are concerned about how things are going back at home can log into a password protected website and view the live feeds from the various cameras in their network.

Not only is this helpful for moms and dads who put in long hours at the office, but this IP video surveillance arrangement is also perfect for the person who travels a great deal and is concerned about their home security while away. Some of the home security systems also monitor things like temperature and moisture levels. For homeowners who have leaky basements or tropical aquariums that must maintain certain temperatures, this can provide a tremendous amount of peace of mind when they are away.

Many home security systems provide monitoring as well that keeps tabs on all the various indicators of home safety. This includes alarms that go off and notify the monitoring center in case of intrusion, fire, a “panic button” being pressed, temperature drops and changes in moisture levels. The monitoring center can then dispatch the appropriate help for the situation.

However, it should be noted that the monitoring centers do not have access to the video surveillance part of the home security system. This is only available to the homeowner and is accessible only through a secure network. A security company doesn’t eavesdrop on home activities.

Taking care of home safety security concerns is rising in importance to families. In too many ways, the world is becoming more dangerous, even though it is becoming “smaller” thanks to rapid communication and travel. Installing a good home surveillance system can provide a wonderful level of peace of mind to busy parents and families.

So many wonderful things are coming into our lives these days as technology quickly brings us new conveniences and advancements. With so much positive happening around us it is too bad that there is also more need than ever to make home security a priority in our lives. However, it is encouraging to know that there are many simple tips and tricks that you can implement around your home that are actually very effective tools in improving security and deterring crime. There are really two primary categories that encompass these security tips for your home and these are low cost techniques and no cost techniques that are effective for times when you are at home, while away at the office, or away on vacation. Both approaches are important and relevant in protecting personal property and preventing theft. Even when at home in your comfortable surroundings, you can still be at risk of an aggressive intruder set on the theft of your property. Reports indicate that even while violent crimes are in decline, home burglaries are on the increase in most areas, and it happens fairly frequently that the owner is at home when these break-ins occur. One simple home security technique is to make sure all the windows are secured against unwanted entry. Windows are generally an easy point of entry, and barring windows is an easy and effective way to turn away burglars. Another easy, and cheap, way to make windows much more challenging to open is by using a piece of sturdy wood cut to just the right length and placed in the track of the window. One of the easiest entry points for the burglar is, surprisingly enough, the doors of the home. At the same time, this vulnerable entry is also one of the easiest to defend and protect. Quality locks are always a basic measure to secure your home. If your home is fairly new, it probably already has locks that are in good shape in place. However, it never hurts to carefully review their condition and have an expert look at them if you are in doubt about how well-made they are. Obviously, a dead-bolt lock, properly installed is the next layer of security. A seated door stop is another cheap and easy addition makes it harder to force a door open. Keep in mind that all exterior doors should open inward to optimize security. Every burglar has two primary enemies: light and sound. Strategic placement of outdoor lighting, especially near entrances, can be a very effective deterrent. Interior lights are also helpful. There is no need for bright lighting in every room, but even a little light will make a burglar think twice before trying to enter your home. Burglars are often clever and persistent, but they also prefer easy targets. Home security can start with making sure that a burglar does not have a good place to lurk but trimming trees and shrubs that might create hiding places, having some simple outdoor lighting, and making sure your locks are in good working order.

The excitement of having a baby can make things seem more overwhelming than they have to be, but you can always feed your brain with home security information that will make your new addition feel safer in his or her home. There seems to be a lot to remember between doctor’s appointments, cribs, blankets, pacifiers, strollers, and your expanding stomach, but taking the nine months to also prepare your home so that it is safer for your child is something that should not be forgotten. There are two different schools of thought when it comes to baby proofing a home, and they could not be more different.

Some people think that home security information in regards to childproofing a home is meaningless, and it will teach your child to be more careless than if they just learned the concept of no. Many people understand that you cannot childproof every environment that your child is in, and you cannot ask everyone you know to childproof their own homes because of your kid. Other people feel like their youngsters should feel comfortable enough in their own homes to be able to explore it freely. They think that if their baby were at another person’s home, they would be more likely to keep a closer eye over them. However, there is a compromise between childproofing as an obsession, and leaving your children to fend for themselves. Home security information is a responsibility when you’re a parent.

Getting a Home Security System in Place

Childproofing your home can be simple, if you keep it simple. There are a lot of options on the market, so make sure that you know about home security information before you go into the store. A good product to buy is the electrical outlet cover. Be conscious of home safety and electronics by making sure that cords and equipment are kept out of reach from children. They are inexpensive and come in packs that have up to 100 in them. Electrical outlets are one of the more common childproofing must haves because children are attracted to them for some reason or another. If you have stairs or other places in the home where toddlers should not go, you should probably look into getting a security gate to block off areas and give yourself some peace of mind. Also, the next time that your phone book is delivered, you should check and see if there is a magnet included with important phone numbers like the fire and police departments. Finally, one of the most important things to do is to not get ahead of yourself when buying your child toys. There are so many wonderful toys on the market, but many times the toys come with multiple pieces and parts, so make sure to buy your baby age appropriate toys to prevent possible choking.

A Secure Home Which Includes Pets

Another thing that concerns your child, your home, and the safety of everyone in your home is to childproof your pets the best that you can for security purposes. Learn about home security information for pets. Before you bring your infant home, you should play with your dog’s ears, tail, and body while they eat. Many dogs can get protective over their food, and they have to learn to get used to hands in and around their food. Make sure that you buy your dog or cat a bed and give it a designated spot in the house. When your child can understand, let them know that the spot is the dog’s peaceful place and they should not be bothered when they are in their place. Eventually, your pet will seek refuge in their personal place when they are tired, annoyed, or want to be left alone. Lastly, you should bring your baby’s blanket home and give it to your dog after the first day in the hospital. Your dog will have a chance to get used to your baby’s smell, and he or she will not feel like an intruder has entered your home once you bring the new addition home from the hospital. Prepare your pet, so that you can make your home safe for you child initially, and you can relax later.

No one has all of the answers, nor can anyone gather and absorb all of the home security information that is available. The reason that no one knows everything is because all children are different, and their curiosities are not predictable. Some children are going to be completely obsessed with a socket, while others will care less. Some children will find the dirtiest corner of your home and lick off the floor, while other children will want to wash their hands constantly. The easiest thing to do is to examine your child as an individual, and then determine which areas of your home need to be concentrated in home safety and security.

There is more to comparing Home Security Alarm Systems then meets the eye. One of the biggest costs is the monthly monitoring fee (assuming you are comparing monitored alarm solutions). Many companies offer free equipment, but charge more per month to monitor it, so your up front costs are lower but your lifetime costs can sometime be significantly higher.

The top two home security alarm monitoring companies in the US are ADT and Protect America. You can see a comparison chart of their upfront and total costs on our home alarm comparisons page.

Continuing with the monthly monitoring service fees, note that some charge more if you have more sensors. Many will quote a base price with a single control panel ad a few sensors, but you need to count your windows and doors, cameras and motion detectors, etc. to see exactly how many sensors you will need to have monitored. Only then can you find the true cost of your monitored alarm solution.

Once upon a time, an ADT home security system was only for the rich and famous and a dog was all you needed for a good in home security system. However, with burglars becoming bolder, break-ins occurring during the day, and a blatant disregard for whether or not a home is occupied, a home security alarm system is almost becoming a necessity. However, you need to pick a system that will not only be reliable, but that will also put fear in the hearts of potential burglers with its alarm abilities. ADT home security is one of the leaders in the security alarm industry. There are advantages to picking a company that is widely known because you ensure the best protection for yourself and your family, but you need to be sure to read the fine print as well.

ADT home security is a little different from their competitors because they have specialized packages that can be customized to you and your family’s protective needs. Their process starts by allowing the customer to speak to a representative who can help decide which in home security system is the best. There are different additions that can be added to these systems, such as fire, carbon monoxide, and medical alert monitoring. However, these additions are an additional charge, and they can only be purchased in conjunction with an alarm system. Therefore, do not skip the step of talking to a representative in order to decide what elements are necessary to keeping a secure home environment.

Some people feel like a security system is pointless, but in a survey conducted by the National Burglar and Fire Protection Agency in 2000, nine out of ten burglars said that they would have been less likely to break into a home if they knew it had a security system. With that being said, ADT security provides a convenient, wireless system that can be installed with minimum inconvenience, or damage to your home. Therefore, if you are a renter and you want to install a system, you can disconnect it and take it with you to your next residence for little to no cost. The systems are also affordable, costing $32.99 per month, and there is no charge for relocation after you have been a customer for two years or more.

As a paying customer, you want to know that a product is going to work. You want to have a reason to differentiate one company from the next. ADT home security gives their customers an extra assurance that is not widely offered elsewhere. There is a theft protection guarantee that promises to pay up to $500 on a home’s insurance deductible if there is ever a burglary. There is also a 20% discount on your home owner’s insurance when you sign up with ADT home security along with a money back guarantee within 6 months if you are not satisfied or you feel like you have changed your mind. Also, if you decide that you would like to move, you don’t have to leave your system and start again. You may take your security system to your next residence, and if you have been with ADT for two or more years, you will have a $100 discount on your installation. However, if you decide to move before two years, it will cost you the installation fee and possibly a new contract. Make sure to check and negotiate for all the best deals before you invest in your alarm system.

People are consistently complaining about not being able to talk to an actual person when they call customer service lines, or try to pay a bill. ADT’s in-home security system also offers the comfort of a live person. The specialized feature is called the 2 Way Voice, and it lets a real person respond when an alarm goes off. The 2 Way Voice feature also has a time limit, therefore, if you have this type of alarm at your place of business and you do not respond to the call in time, the police will be called unnecessarily. The catch to this feature is that it requires a landline, and with many people using their cell phones now for a primary source of communication, this could present a problem. If you don’t have a landline, you may want to do some further research and investigation into ADT home security in order to make sure their other features are worth your while. Choose home security services that are tailored to your needs by assessing what your needs are ahead of time.

Learn more about ADT Home Security Systems here.
